Introduction: Headache is one of the most common and frequent complaints now a day’s among the people. Headaches are caused due to stress held in the neck, upper back and shoulders. When the muscles are constantly contracted, they restrict the flow of blood, oxygen and liveliness to the head. It is usually a beginning symptom and sometime it could be a serious illness, such as brain tumour etc. It may cause by Intra cranial & local extra cranial, meningitis, encephalitis, cerebral abscess etc.
Yoga for Headache / Migraine : Yoga not only offers relief from the pain but also prevent headaches from occurring in the future. During a headache, yoga postures and pranayama can help to eliminate body pain as well as body pain. A general yoga practice is the best preventative medicine for headaches. Focus on postures that will release tension in neck and shoulders, increase circulation to head and stimulate the nervous system. Routine yoga practices will reduce stress and tension in the whole body while increasing circulation and absorption of oxygen. Dirga Ujjayi and NadiSodhana Pranayama will calm the mind, release tension, and increase circulation of blood and oxygen.
