Yoga for Arthritis : Several studies found yoga very effective in healing and preventing the arthritis. Repetitive movements of yoga postures warm up the body, and building strength and flexibility. Yogic practices help to open up the joints and increase range of motion and the circulation of blood, energy, and oxygen. The routine practice of yoga will slowly decrease pain, swelling, and inflammation in joints.

  • In osteoarthritis, practice more warming and energizing asanas and strength building postures with Kapalabhati and Ujjayi pranayamas.
  • In rheumatoid arthritis cases yoga postures improves the blood circulation of the lymphatic system and enhance the immune system. Focus on cooling and balancing yoga practice using floor postures and Dirga, Shtiali, and Sitcari pranayamas.
